Policies

Weather

Our main priority is the health & safety of your child, staff will reserve the right to refuse entry to any child who is not suitably protected or dressed. In wet weather, please provide your child with spare footwear, as we encourage children to play outside in all weather’s and need your child dressed appropriately.

In hot weather, you must provide a sun hat and have already applied sun cream to your child before the session starts.

Absence

We ask that if your child will be off sick that you contact the playgroup telephone number 290290 the first morning of absence. Please keep your child away from the playgroup if they have sickness or diarrhoea for at least 48 hours from the last symptom to prevent it from spreading. If your child has a contagious illness, please notify the pre-school immediately.

Parent Help

Research shows that children learn better when their parents are involved and have an open door approach to encourage parents and family members in helping in the group regularly. The setting has a dated rota which parents can sign if they would like to help at a particular session or sessions of the setting. Helping at the session enables parents to see what the day-to-day life of the setting is like and to join in helping the children to get the best out of their activities.

Joining the rota is not the only means of taking part in the life of the setting. Parents can offer to take part in a session by sharing their own interests, job, and/or skills with the children. Parents could visit the setting to play an instrument, talk, and show pictures of a holiday or show the children a personal collection of something.
